WARPOD

RECYCLE-REPAIR-REBOOT

DESTRON

Destron is a system.

An immense electronic realm buried deep within a sentient computer — a sprawling digital world of data, circuitry, processing architecture and an artificial machine intelligence.

To the machines that inhabit it, Destron is everything... Their world. Their history. Their home.

At the heart of the system lies Server-Core, where ArchOS, Destron's synthetic intelligence, maintains control over the machine. Or at least, it did...

THE GLITCH

Something has gone haywire.

A malevolent malware infection known simply as the Glitch is spreading throughout Destron.

Like a plague of zombie-code, the infection corrupts artificial intelligence and twists machine logic. Systems fail. Protocols collapse. Entire sectors fragment into digital wastelands.

And with the contagion comes war.

The update-enhanced Glitch-corrupted warhost of the Domain Authority sweeps relentlessly through the network, overriding or assimilating everything in its path. The circuit-cities of Active-Matrix are reduced to fragmented ruins as the battlefront steadily advances toward Server-Core.

Those who resist are subjugated and those who cannot be subjugated are deleted.

In the burnt-out ruins of Ghost-Matrix, small but adaptive resistance cells of the Strand Network wage a war of maneuver from the shadows. A motley gathering of fighters drawn from scattered groups, the Strand are armed with whatever weapons and equipment they can find, repair or fashion themselves. Bound by little more than necessity, they have formed a loose and unpredictable rebellion with allegiance to no one but themselves.

Elsewhere, the outdated, obsolete and ramshackle machines of the Patch Alliance fight their own desperate war of attrition. Held together by a hodge-podge of salvaged parts, improvised repairs and sheer stubbornness, these veterans scavenge whatever they can find. Reclaimed equipment is modified for purpose, salvaged technology is pressed back into service, and damaged pods are rebuilt from the wreckage of previous battles. Whatever can be bolted together can be sent back into the fight.

Three factions...

One system...

One prize...

Server-Core.

Whoever controls Server-Core controls ArchOS.

Whoever controls ArchOS controls Destron.

THE SCRAP

The machines of Destron have a simple name for their war

There are no front lines. No safe zones. No lasting victories.

Nano-machinery collides across a thousand digital realms,

electronic weaponry discharges, circuitry overloads and

processor architecture collapses beneath a torrent of

virtual violence.

The Scrap follows a cycle of two phases.

It begins with Reboot.

It ends with Shutdown.

Each cycle, scores of pods are fragmented, desynched and nullified. But on Destron nothing stays offline for long while the Pulse continues to flow through its systems.

When the cycle ends, the wreckage is hauled from the battlefield to the Recycle Bin for Defrag.

There, deleted pods are recycled, repaired, and refitted for

Reboot.

Whatever survives is given another chance.

Whatever doesn't becomes something else.

Then the system Reboots... and a new Scrap-Cycle begins.

Wrecked in the Scrap. Rebuilt for Reboot.

WARPOD chronicles a world of machines fighting for control of a machine.

A system eating itself alive.

RECYCLE. REPAIR. REBOOT.
